Mortgage loan officer Phil Crescenzo Jr. joins CrossCountry Mortgage

HousingWire reports Crescenzo is moving to help run a Southeast division for CrossCountry Mortgage, targeting South Carolina and Georgia and underserved borrowers.

Phil Crescenzo Jr. is joining CrossCountry Mortgage after a brief stint at NFM Lending, according to HousingWire. He will help run a division focused on the Southeast states, reuniting with his son, PJ Crescenzo III.

Crescenzo is bringing a team of about 10 people to CrossCountry Mortgage and plans to focus on borrowers in South Carolina and Georgia, HousingWire said. He cited CrossCountry’s platform, including flexibility across programs and product mix.

NFM Lending has been expanding its footprint, and Inside Mortgage Finance data cited by HousingWire put NFM as the 44th-largest U.S. mortgage lender in the first half of 2026, originating about $4 billion in volume, up 19% from 2025.

HousingWire also noted Crescenzo’s production history, including 494 loans closed for $161.5 million volume in 2025, and 116 loans for $37 million year to date in 2026. Most of his originations have been Federal Housing Administration and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs loans, and he pointed to opportunities in builder and nonqualified mortgage niches, emphasizing the need for creativity to close loans.
