MS Amlin bolsters cyber team with new head and lead underwriter
The appointments come after MS Amlin began writing cyber treaty in 2024 and expanded into direct cyber insurance in 2025 via coverholder relationships.
MS Amlin, a specialty commercial insurance and reinsurance provider and part of MS&AD, appointed Alex Jomaa as Head of Cyber and Monica Tigleanu as Lead Underwriter, according to Reinsurance News.
The insurer said the hires are intended to expand its direct cyber portfolio and accelerate growth as part of its longer-term strategy to build out existing lines of business and extend into adjacent areas. MS Amlin began writing cyber treaty in 2024 and moved into direct cyber insurance in 2025 through a limited set of strategic coverholder relationships.
Jomaa will report to Stuart Wood, Director of Casualty and Cyber at MS Amlin. Reinsurance News also noted Jomaa previously worked at Onda AI as Chief Underwriting Officer and a Founding Executive, and held cyber underwriting roles at Tokio Marine Kiln and CFC Underwriting.
Tigleanu joins from BMS Group, where she served as Cyber Strategy Director. Reinsurance News said she previously held senior cyber underwriting and broking roles at Munich Re Syndicate, Marsh Specialty, Beazley, and AIG.
