Continental Reinsurance to open Kigali representative office
The Kigali office is licensed to begin operations on 10 August 2026, after Rwanda’s National Bank approved the company to establish the unit.
Continental Reinsurance says it is expanding its presence in East Africa by opening a representative office in Kigali, Rwanda, after receiving approval from the National Bank of Rwanda.
The new office will operate as Continental Reinsurance (R) Limited and is licensed to begin operations on 10 August 2026.
The company said the move is part of a longer-term commitment to the East African market, aimed at strengthening relationships with insurers, brokers, and other local industry stakeholders, and providing more direct support.
Continental Reinsurance added that it will announce its dedicated local representative in the coming weeks, and characterized the approach as combining its wider pan-African presence with greater local engagement.
