Marvell shares surge as it highlights interconnect roadmap momentum
The company said it began shipping a 1.6T PAM DSP in December 2024 and later lifted its fiscal 2027 interconnect outlook to growth of more than 70% year over year.
Marvell Technology shares more than tripled over the past year, rising 233.5%, outpacing a 21.0% gain for the S&P 500, according to analysis from Yahoo Finance.
The rally was framed around Marvell's interconnect roadmap, with the market attention shifting beyond custom silicon to the company's connectivity milestones. In December 2024, Marvell reported it started shipping what it described as the industry's first 1.6T PAM DSP for optical modules, and it also outlined a three-nanometer successor aimed at cutting optical module power by more than 20%.
In its fiscal Q1 2026 results filed in May 2025, Marvell said shipments were underway at five nanometers and that a larger ramp was still ahead. At that time, trailing-twelve-month revenue was $6.5 billion, up 21.6% year over year, while profitability remained weak, with a 0.6% operating margin and a negative 7.6% net margin on a trailing basis.
After Marvell reported fiscal Q1 2027 at the end of May 2026, management lifted its interconnect business outlook for fiscal 2027 to growth of more than 70% year over year, above what it had expected before. The company also guided total revenue for fiscal 2027 to nearly $11.5 billion, described as about 40% year over year on a like-for-like basis.
