Nvidia leans into data center power supply as earnings approach
The company is also said to be in advanced talks to take an interest in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, where power arrangements for data centers are handled.
Nvidia is heading into its August 26 earnings announcement with a push toward greater involvement in data center power, a move that Yahoo Finance highlights as supporting its AI infrastructure position.
The outlet points to Nvidia becoming more vertically integrated, including reported advanced talks to acquire an interest in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, which arranges power for data centers, and an equity interest in SoftBank's SB Energy.
Yahoo Finance also cites a $2 billion investment in Lancium, a power developer tied to a computing campus in Abilene, Texas, where OpenAI rents capacity from Oracle.
Ahead of results, analysts expect Nvidia to nearly double earnings and revenue from a year ago, and the article notes that the August 26 earnings update will land alongside the July Personal Consumption Expenditures report, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge.
