POSCO International tokenizes trade receivables on Avalanche blockchain

The transaction uses AI to reconcile invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and shipping documents before the receivables are recorded on a shared ledger.

CoinDesk reports that POSCO International completed a transaction converting trade receivables into digital assets on an Avalanche-based blockchain network, in a tokenization push aimed at trade finance.

The company’s U.S. arm worked with trade finance platform Olea and asset-backed finance technology firm Intain, with Intain using artificial intelligence to reconcile and verify trade documents such as invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and shipping documents before recording the receivables on a shared ledger.

According to CoinDesk, the approach is designed to address paperwork and reconciliation frictions that arise when buyers, sellers, and banks hold records separately, with the goal of giving companies a quicker, common record of ownership and asset status to support borrowing against invoices.

CoinDesk also notes the move follows POSCO International’s earlier pilot with LG CNS on Injective and says the firms plan to explore stablecoin-based cross-border settlements and digital treasury tools as tokenization expands in areas like payments and collateral management.
