SpaceX plans $100 billion spaceport investment in Louisiana

SpaceX said it will invest $100 billion to launch thousands of rockets from Starbase, Louisiana, as it plans to build out a new spaceport, according to MarketWatch.

The company said construction is scheduled to start in 2027, with the effort positioned as moving a concept that previously existed mainly in science fiction into a real operating launch site.

MarketWatch reports that SpaceX framed the investment as part of its broader expansion plans for increased launch activity at the Louisiana location.
