Chelsea FC to feature Circle and USDC on jerseys for 2026-2027 season
The USDC sponsor deal comes about three months after the UK FCA warned Premier League clubs about sponsorships with unauthorized financial firms, including crypto companies.
Chelsea Football Club will feature Circle and the USDC stablecoin brand on the front of its jerseys for the 2026-2027 season, Circle said in an announcement covered by Cointelegraph.
The partnership follows scrutiny from the UK Financial Conduct Authority, which sent warning letters to Premier League clubs about “questionable sponsorship deals” with unauthorized financial firms, including crypto companies.
Circle said its name and USDC will appear on the jerseys, and noted that Circle UK Trading Limited is an FCA-listed authorized firm for certain financial services to UK residents since 2018.
Cointelegraph reports that Circle also said USDC is issued by certain regulated affiliates, but it is not issued or regulated under UK laws, while lawmakers continue working on a broader digital asset regulatory framework.
