Circle launches native USDC and EURC support on Plasma

Circle said it published Plasma mainnet contract addresses on Aug. 28, with Plasmascan showing maximum total supply of 4,654,322.737666 USDC and 12,866.64 EURC at the time of checking.

Circle has added native support for its dollar stablecoin USDC and euro stablecoin EURC on the Plasma blockchain, pairing the tokens with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, or CCTP, and a developer-focused Bridge Kit.

In an Aug. 28 rollout, Circle published mainnet contract addresses for both tokens on Plasma, and Plasmascan pages checked at the time showed maximum total supply of 4,654,322.737666 USDC with six holders and 12,866.64 EURC with five holders.

The integration gives Plasma first-party access to Circle-issued tokens and Circle’s cross-chain transfer stack. Circle said eligible institutional traders and teams can use Plasma features including fiat on and offramps for USDC payments and settlement, plus deposit, withdrawal, and API functionality.

Circle said CCTP moves USDC by burning tokens on the source chain, obtaining a signed attestation from Circle, and minting the same amount on the destination chain, avoiding wrapped USDC representations and liquidity pools. Circle added that the Bridge Kit packages the process for developers, and that it can be integrated in roughly 10 lines of code.
