South Korea presidential policy adviser resigns after cabinet reshuffle
The adviser, linked to economic policy and housing and stock market issues, had offered to step down Monday, after President Lee Jae-myung’s cabinet and senior aide reshuffle.
South Korea’s chief presidential policy adviser resigned after President Lee Jae-myung reshuffled his cabinet and senior aides, according to the South China Morning Post.
The presidential Blue House said Kim Yong-beom stepped down on Tuesday, following a reported drop in Lee’s approval rating.
Kim is described by SCMP Economy as a key adviser on economic policy, including housing and stock market issues.
The outlet also reported that Kim had offered to resign from the role on Monday, as the post oversees parts of the administration’s policy agenda.
