AXA XL Re names Augustin Gas Head of Asia Reinsurance
The appointment takes effect 1 September 2026 and places Gas in Singapore to lead AXA XL’s Asia reinsurance business.
AXA XL Reinsurance, part of AXA XL, has appointed Augustin Gas as Head of Asia Reinsurance, effective 1 September 2026.
In the role, Gas will manage AXA XL’s regional reinsurance business across Asia, working with key clients and brokers, and leading the team based in Singapore.
Reinsurance News says Gas brings more than 20 years of experience from reinsurance firms including Arch Re and SCOR, where he most recently served as a Senior Underwriter.
AXA XL Reinsurance CEO for International Bertrand Romagne said the company expects Gas to strengthen its commitment to the Asia region, describing his background as spanning deep technical expertise, global market experience, and leadership across Europe, North America, and Asia.
