ISM factory index slips in August as price pressures build
The August dip marks a further tick down in the ISM manufacturing gauge, with price pressure continuing to rise.
Manufacturers expressed growing frustration with economic conditions as the ISM factory index edged down in August, according to MarketWatch.
The report also pointed to continued build in price pressure, a theme that remained present even as the headline reading ticked lower.
MarketWatch said the slowing in the ISM measure was driven by the broader tone in the manufacturing data, where pricing pressures have kept building despite the index decline.
