MFEM rises 9% in August and posts 25.7% year-to-date gain

PIMCO RAFI Dynamic Multi-Factor Emerging Markets Equity ETF MFEM reported an 8.75% return in August, and its net expense ratio is 0.49%.

Investing in emerging markets can be difficult due to shifting trade dynamics, geopolitical tensions, and a strong dollar tied to high interest rates, but ETF Trends highlights a multi-factor approach designed to address those risks.

The PIMCO RAFI Dynamic Multi-Factor Emerging Markets Equity ETF, MFEM, gained 9% in August and is up 25.7% year to date, following an 8.75% performance in August tied to its underlying RAFI Dynamic Multi-Factor Emerging Markets Index methodology.

The article says MFEM has delivered 36.18% over a 12-month horizon and targets undervalued factors by dynamically tilting among exposures such as value, momentum, quality, and low volatility during market swings.

ETF Trends also notes the fund’s 0.49% net expense ratio, and says MFEM is backed by nearly $160 million in assets under management, using fundamental metrics like sales, cash flow, dividends, and book value rather than market-cap weighting.
