Young Americans buy homes in their early 20s despite high prices

MarketWatch profiles young homeowners, including a 22-year-old accountant who bought his first house in Lancaster, Pa., and worked through college while avoiding student debt.

MarketWatch reports that an increasing number of young adults are becoming homeowners, even as home prices remain at historically high levels.

The outlet profiles Lucas Charles, an accountant who bought his first home at age 22 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he grew up.

MarketWatch says Charles credits a combination of working while in college, including night shifts at a local grocery store, and avoiding student debt to help him manage the purchase.
