Riverwater Small Cap Strategy adds NetScout to its Q2 2026 portfolio
The firm highlighted NetScout in its Q2 2026 investor letter, noting the stock closed at $38.83 on Aug. 31, 2026 and has a $2.82 billion market cap.
Riverwater Partners, an investment management firm, said its Small Cap Strategy Q2 2026 investor letter included NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT) as a new addition. In the letter, the strategy described a quarter marked by accelerating AI investment, energy market disruptions, and renewed investor appetite for higher-beta stocks, factors it said created headwinds for its quality-focused approach and healthcare positioning.
Yahoo Finance reported that the Small Cap Strategy underperformed the Russell 2000 in the second quarter, while remaining ahead year-to-date. The firm attributed the mixed quarter to both positive stock selection in energy, materials, and financials, and detractors from healthcare and consumer discretionary, where it said its disciplined avoidance of speculative businesses weighed on results.
NetScout’s business covers carrier service assurance, cybersecurity, and Distributed Denial-of-Service, or DDoS, solutions, which the article tied to the portfolio’s theme of protecting digital business services against disruptions. The stock closed at $38.83 per share on Aug. 31, 2026, the article said, with a one-month return of -8.01%, and shares up 57.59% over the past 52 weeks.
The article also cited NetScout’s market capitalization of $2.82 billion and a 52-week trading range between $24.27 and $45.28, alongside the note that Riverwater initiated a position in NTCT in April, as described in the Q2 2026 investor letter.
