Stocks slip as 10-year Treasury yield hits highest since January 2025

The move came alongside a jump in oil prices after President Trump said he would target Iran hard, adding inflation risk as investors weigh a possible Fed rate hike this year.

Stocks fell in early trading as long-dated bond yields rose, with the 10-year Treasury yield reaching its highest level since January 2025, according to Yahoo Finance.

The report said rising yield expectations were also tied to speculation that a potential rate hike could come this year, with oil jumping after President Trump vowed to hit Iran "hard," stoking concerns about inflation.

By sector, tech shares declined, and semiconductors led the drop after Nvidia shares fell, while the Energy sector extended gains as Chevron and Exxon shares rose.

Later in the session, Yahoo Finance noted investors would get additional reads on the AI trade from earnings from Dell and Palo Alto Networks after the bell.
