Trump says the US leads China in AI and hails Xi visit

Trump also touted “unprecedented” inbound US investment ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Washington visit later this month, as inflation and oil prices rise.

US President Donald Trump said the United States is leading China in artificial intelligence, telling reporters in the Oval Office that AI progress is “going up” and that the US leads “very substantially,” according to SCMP Economy.

Trump also said he was “thrilled” about Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington later this month and pointed to what he described as unprecedented levels of inbound US investment.

The remarks come as Trump faces rising inflation and oil prices, and as his Iran policy continues to draw attention, with SCMP Economy noting that analysts see expectations for the summit as relatively low for major deliverables or structural reform.
