American Century touts active ETF focus as flows favor diversification
American Century Investments runs 49 ETFs across its American Century Investments and Avantis Investors brands, with nearly $160 billion in AUM and about $40 billion in YTD inflows, it said.
ETF Trends covered an ETF Prime conversation with American Century Investments head of ETF product and strategy Sandra Testani, who discussed how the firm’s active ETF lineup has evolved since launching its first ETFs in 2018.
Testani described American Century as the fourth largest issuer of active ETFs in the US, and said the firm now offers 49 ETFs across its American Century Investments and Avantis Investors brands.
She attributed the firm’s nearly $160 billion in AUM and about $40 billion in year-to-date inflows to two broad client motivations, first diversification within equity allocations, and second navigating an uncertain fixed-income landscape.
Testani also addressed concentration risk in US equities, noting that 10 stocks represent 40% of the S&P 500 and 60% of the Russell 1000 growth, and said that despite supportive earnings, the data has driven more discussion around growth concentration alongside AI stock appeal.
