Curve DAO funds yRisk to provide risk services for crvUSD and Llamalend

The binding vote closed Sept. 2 with 621.2 million veCRV in favor, and the mandate runs via two one-year vesting streams totaling 125,000 frxUSD plus 568,181 CRV.

Curve DAO approved a proposal to fund yRisk as its risk provider for crvUSD and Llamalend, with the decision made for Sept. 2 after replacing LlamaRisk, which exited about 10 months into a one-year renewal, The Defiant reported.

The DAO said yRisk would take over risk coverage for Resupply, a stablecoin and lending protocol built on top of crvUSD and CurveLend. Resupply was exploited for $9.6 million in June 2025 through a donation attack that rounded a vault exchange rate to zero, though the exploit was not referenced in the proposal reviewed by voters.

To select the winner, Curve DAO ran nine parallel non-binding preference votes from Aug. 10 to Aug. 17, one per bidder, with yRisk receiving 536,968,660.7 veCRV in favor and none against from 47 voters, representing 68.78% of veCRV supply at the snapshot block. Proposal 1492 later closed at 15:04 UTC on Sept. 2 with 621,165,847.95 veCRV in favor and 5.33 against, and the funding was executed about 87 minutes afterward.

Curve will pay yRisk through two revocable one-year vesting streams, including 125,000 frxUSD of principal held in sfrxUSD, with all sfrxUSD yield returning to the Curve treasury, plus 568,181 CRV. The Defiant also noted that yRisk requested $250,000 per year, and that Swiss Stake flagged capacity as the main concern when reviewing bids, recommending a limited first mandate with a public review checkpoint before expanding.
