Grey market premium slips for NSE IPO ahead of price band

Market observers pegged NSE shares at a ₹ 273 premium in the grey market today, down from ₹ 285 the previous day.

India’s NSE IPO is drawing fresh focus as market participants await the IPO price band announcement, after SEBI cleared the exchange to launch a mega offering worth ₹ 30,000 crore. LiveMint Markets reports that the estimated price band range being discussed is ₹ 1,800 to ₹ 2,100 per share, but some experts say the upper end may be limited by grey market pricing.

According to market observers cited by LiveMint Markets, the NSE grey market premium has eased, with shares available at a premium of ₹ 273 today, down from ₹ 285 yesterday. The same coverage links the decline in grey market sentiment to weaker trends on Dalal Street and the start of the lock-in period.

LiveMint Markets also reports that, after the lock-in began, pre-IPO investors must wait six months before they can sell NSE shares. One analyst, Arun Kejriwal, said NSE shares ended at around ₹ 2,050 on September 7 and that the timing of lock-in could cap the price band’s ceiling at about ₹ 1,750 based on a stated grey market component.

On timing, LiveMint Markets points to Reuters guidance that NSE is targeting a listing week starting September 21, with the earliest and latest listing windows given as September 21, 2026 and September 25, 2026. The coverage also notes that under India’s T+3 listing rule, bidding would need to end about three days before the listing date.
