Scott Galloway says SpaceX shares could drop 80% from current levels
Galloway’s forecast contrasts with SpaceX’s $148 share price, after the stock slid more than 50% from a peak near $225 and recently traded above its $135 IPO level.
Yahoo Finance reports that marketing professor Scott Galloway, speaking on a recent podcast, said SpaceX shares are worth between $10 and $30, implying the stock could fall about 80% from its then-current trading level around $148 without being undervalued.
The article notes that SpaceX priced its IPO in the summer at $135 a share and briefly climbed as high as $225 before dropping more than 50% to roughly $105. It has since recovered, trading above its IPO price in the last two weeks.
Galloway argued that recent price moves reflect trading mechanics more than fundamentals, pointing to limited public float after the June 2026 listing, forced buying tied to SpaceX’s Nasdaq 100 inclusion, and a $25 billion bond offering priced less than two weeks after the IPO.
The piece also cites financial details from the company’s reporting, including sales rising from $10.4 billion in 2023 to $23 billion over the last 12 months, net losses of $4.6 billion in 2023 and $4.9 billion in 2025, and trailing free cash flow burn of $31.2 billion tied in part to $41.1 billion in capital expenditures for an AI compute buildout.
