Broadcom sees surge in AI semiconductor revenue and strong Q3 growth

The chipmaker posted $29.6 billion in Q3 revenue, with AI semiconductor sales jumping to $16.7 billion, and forecast further acceleration in Q4.

Broadcom reported a sharp expansion in its AI-focused business, driven by growing demand for custom AI infrastructure components such as accelerators and high-speed networking, according to Yahoo Finance.

In Q3 2026, Broadcom’s revenue rose 86.0% year over year to $29.6 billion, while AI semiconductor revenue climbed 221.0% to $16.7 billion. The company also generated $13.7 billion in free cash flow in the quarter, equivalent to 46.0% of revenue.

Broadcom forecast that AI semiconductor revenue will rise further to $21.7 billion in Q4 2026, up 236.0% year over year. Total Q4 revenue is expected at about $34.8 billion, an increase of 93.0%.

Management said Broadcom’s custom accelerator strategy could extend beyond FY 2026, projecting about $115.0 billion of AI semiconductor revenue in FY 2027 and $230.0 billion in FY 2028. Yahoo Finance also noted Marvell as a competitor in custom AI silicon and networking.
