LAPTOP memecoin to launch on Base with burn-or-charity tokenomics
About 30% of LAPTOP’s supply is tied to 30 public prediction outcomes, with tokens set to be burned or donated depending on results.
The Block reports Hunter Biden has outlined the tokenomics for LAPTOP, a memecoin set to launch Wednesday on Base Layer 2.
According to The Block, of LAPTOP’s total 1 billion supply, 20% will be airdropped to the community, and at the token generation event 10% will be unlocked via a claim portal run by the Phoenix Veritas Foundation. A further 10% will be airdropped later at Phoenix Veritas’ discretion, with allocations including 2% for people who experienced losses on Donald Trump’s TRUMP memecoin and 8% for subscribers of Hunter Biden’s “Where’s Hunter?” Substack.
The Block says another 30% is linked to 30 public real-world predictions, including outcomes such as President Donald Trump being impeached during his term, and Democrats taking the House or Senate in 2026, where the tokens will be burned or donated based on the results.
In an X post, Biden framed the project by writing, “They turned laptop into a weapon. I turned it into a token,” referring to the earlier political controversy around the laptop that prosecutors later used in his 2024 federal firearm trial. The Block notes the former president was not charged.
