EU finance groups urge changes to tokenized securities limits

The groups propose either scrapping the current cap on assets admitted to DLT infrastructure or adopting a 1.5 trillion euro baseline if limits remain.

European finance and tokenization groups are calling on Brussels to adjust rules that limit the amount of assets that can be admitted to distributed ledger technology, or DLT, infrastructure, according to Cointelegraph.

The groups say the European Union should remove the tokenized securities cap, or alternatively set a 1.5 trillion euro baseline for any remaining limit.

Their proposal centers on expanding how assets can be brought onto DLT platforms, arguing for more room under the existing framework.

Cointelegraph reports the move is aimed at reshaping EU policy for tokenization and DLT infrastructure, with the groups offering an explicit fallback figure if regulators keep a cap.
