Ford to invest $1 billion in Kentucky truck plant paint shop

The investment follows DOT criticism tied to Ford's China operations, according to CNBC.

Ford Motor said it will invest $1 billion in a new paint shop at a key truck plant in Kentucky, part of the automaker's announced capital spending at the site, according to CNBC Markets.

CNBC World reported that the move came after criticism from the U.S. Department of Transportation that was linked to Ford's China-related activity.

The new paint shop is expected to expand Ford's manufacturing capacity at the Kentucky facility as the company responds to the DOT scrutiny, CNBC said.
