Polymarket hires Warren Jenson as its first chief financial officer

The appointment supports Polymarket’s plan to scale its CFTC-regulated U.S. exchange while expanding its global prediction market platform.

Polymarket has hired former Amazon CFO Warren Jenson as its first chief financial officer, tasking him with finance, capital strategy, and long-term planning as the company scales its business.

CoinDesk reports that Polymarket is working to expand its CFTC-regulated U.S. exchange and continue growing its prediction market platform globally. The hire comes as Polymarket has broadened beyond politics, moving further into sports and competing with established betting platforms.

According to the report, Polymarket previously faced major restrictions in the U.S. after a 2022 settlement with the CFTC that required it to block American users. The company now says its regulated U.S. exchange and global platform are key parts of its next phase of growth.

Polymarket’s trading model uses USDC, with trades recorded and settled on the Polygon blockchain, CoinDesk notes. Jenson will report to Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan and oversee the company’s finance organization.
