Zillow forecasts faster rent growth as for-sale activity cools
Zillow said single-family rents are projected to rise 2.1% in 2026 after rent-growth momentum accelerated 13% from the prior month.
Zillow Research projects that the rental market is gaining momentum into the home stretch of 2026, while the for-sale market may be losing steam, according to its August housing market forecast.
Zillow said rent growth accelerated 13% from the prior month, pointing to improving momentum in rentals.
In its outlook, Zillow projects single-family rents will rise 2.1% in 2026.
