Bessent defends Treasury market intervention in contentious House hearing
CNBC Real Estate reports that Scott Bessent defended the administration's approach to intervening in Treasury markets during a contentious House hearing, as lawmakers pressed for specifics on borrowing and broader economic issues.
In the same exchange, Bessent also defended the administration's economic record and outlined its views on AI policy, according to CNBC Real Estate.
Lawmakers, meanwhile, attempted to challenge his position by linking Treasury intervention to questions about government borrowing and energy, the outlet said.
