Fed’s Collins warns inflation could stay above 2% target
Boston Fed President Susan Collins said the risk of inflation remaining “notably” above the Federal Reserve’s 2% goal has increased.
Boston Federal Reserve President Susan Collins warned that inflation could remain “notably” above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target, according to CNBC Markets.
CNBC World reported that Collins cited an “increased likelihood” of inflation staying above the Fed’s goal after she supported a rate hike.
The remarks reinforce the central bank leadership’s concern that progress toward the 2% target may take longer than expected.
