XRP Ledger upgrade aims to split payment and compliance roles

The upgrade is set up to activate Oct. 5, enabling limited account powers for payments or customer approvals without full account control transfer.

CoinDesk reports the XRP Ledger is undergoing retries for an upgrade designed to let banks and other institutions divide responsibilities between payment activity and compliance checks.

The reported change would allow businesses to delegate limited functions, including making payments or approving customers, while not handing over full control of an entire account.

According to CoinDesk, the upgrade could be activated on Oct. 5, when the enhanced capability may become available.
