Qantas plans New York to Sydney nonstop flights starting in 2028

Qantas Airways said its Project Sunrise program will bring nonstop flights between New York and Sydney, with service expected to begin in 2028, according to the NYT Business.

The announcement comes months after Qantas plans to start nonstop flights from Sydney to London, which the airline described as a roughly 22-hour route.

The planned New York to Sydney journey would take about 18 hours, the outlet said, as Qantas rolls out the longer range flying concept across its network.
