Trump disclosed July trades tied to Microsoft, Nvidia, SpaceX and Tesla

The filings cover more than 1,000 trades, including $6.5m to $31m of Microsoft stock sold on his behalf and purchases ranging from $165,000 to $400,000.

US President Donald Trump disclosed millions of dollars worth of stock trades made during July, spanning big tech and AI companies including Microsoft, Nvidia and Palantir, as well as Elon Musk linked firms like SpaceX and Tesla, according to official documents reviewed by BBC Business.

The filings show Microsoft transactions where between $6.5m and $31m worth of stock was sold on Trumps behalf, while purchases were reported in a range from $165,000 to $400,000. Across more than 1,000 trades, the documents also cite buying and selling in Nvidia and software firm Palantir, which is described as a contractor with the US defence department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

A White House spokesperson told BBC Business that Trumps stock and bond portfolio is independently managed by third parties, adding that neither Trump nor family members can direct or influence how investments are handled or when trades occur.

The July disclosures also include thousands of dollars worth of stock trades tied to SpaceX, the rocket, satellite and AI company led by Musk, whose share price fluctuated after the period, with the stock reportedly trading 14% higher than its debut at the time of the filing. The article also notes Trump has rejected calls for AI safety driven slowdowns, warning against restrictions, and says his administration is proposing an emergency AI hotline with Beijing while a state visit to Washington by Chinas Xi Jinping is expected this week.
