Abeona says ZEVASKYN launch is building with $11.4M quarterly revenue
The company reported treating 12 patients across seven qualified centers as of Aug. 13, while noting that prior authorizations and single-case agreements are still slowing treatment.
Abeona Therapeutics said its ZEVASKYN launch is gaining commercial traction following the therapy’s approval and late last year launch, during commentary at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual conference, according to Yahoo Finance.
The company reported $11.4 million in quarterly net product revenue, up 31% sequentially, and it said it had treated 12 patients across seven qualified treatment centers as of Aug. 13.
Abeona also described coverage as broad, saying ZEVASKYN has coverage representing more than 95% of commercial lives and that Medicaid in all 50 states covers the therapy. Still, it said administrative steps like prior authorizations and single-case agreements can slow treatment progress, even though it has not experienced an ultimate insurance denial for coverage.
Looking ahead, Abeona estimated about 750 U.S. patients may be eligible for ZEVASKYN, priced at $3.1 million per treatment cycle. The company said it has $146 million in cash to support the launch and development of additional programs.
