Lauren Muss of Douglas Elliman has topped $7 billion in Manhattan sales

Muss, who began her real estate career in 1994, said her first listing was $400,000 and she has built a seven-person team rather than relying on assistants.

Lauren Muss, an agent at Douglas Elliman, has achieved more than $7 billion in sales across some of Manhattan’s most prominent neighborhoods, according to a Commercial Observer profile published in September.

The article says Muss joined the real estate industry in 1994 after previously running a high-end accessory company and that she started with her first listing for $400,000, with open houses every weekend.

Muss described recent transactions including penthouses in the $40 million to $50 million range at addresses such as the Pierre, 160 Leroy Street, the Baccarat, and 33 East 74th Street, along with townhouses and units at developments including the Surrey, 70 Vestry, and 200 East 79th Street.

She also said her current focus is building a team of seven professionals with 12 to 23 years of experience, noting that clients can work directly alongside any team member and that none of her team members has left.
