Okta to open Oktane 2026 on Sept. 22 amid 120% YTD rally

The identity security company is pushing AI agent identity and governance through Oktane, while recent results showed $805 million in Q2 revenue and $227 million in free cash flow.

Okta is set to open Oktane 2026 in Las Vegas on Sept. 22, positioning its push into AI agent security in front of customers, partners, and investors, according to Yahoo Finance. The event timing comes as Okta stock has already climbed more than 120% year-to-date, leaving the market focused on whether the company can translate conference messaging into real customer adoption.

Yahoo Finance also highlighted analyst momentum ahead of the conference, noting Needham raised its price target to $230 from $200 and kept a Buy rating. The central question for investors is whether Okta’s AI agent identity and governance efforts can become a meaningful growth driver, given that the stock is trading at a premium valuation.

Okta’s strategy centers on giving AI agents identities, controlling what they can access, and monitoring agent activity. Its Cross App Access framework is designed to manage agent-to-application connections through centralized policies, and it made Agent SSO generally available in August as part of its core SSO offering used by more than 20,000 customers.

Ahead of Oktane, Yahoo Finance pointed to Okta’s fiscal second quarter as a key operating backdrop. Revenue reached $805 million, up 11% year-over-year, subscription revenue rose 12% to $793 million, remaining performance obligations increased 17% to $4.86 billion, and Okta reported EPS of $1.05. Free cash flow was $227 million, and the company ended the quarter with $2.299 billion in cash and short-term investments.
