Xi arrives in the US ahead of Trump meeting at Joint Base Andrews
SCMP says Xi Jinping told Trump the two countries should act as partners and build a stable relationship grounded in cooperation.
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the United States for his three-day trip and was met at the military airstrip by President Donald Trump at Maryland’s Joint Base Andrews, a break from protocol described by SCMP.
In a written statement issued after his arrival, Xi said the two countries “should be partners rather than adversaries” and emphasized fostering a stable relationship defined by cooperation as the mainstay, according to SCMP.
