The outlet notes that Xi’s schedule includes multiple kinds of engagements, from informal walk-and-talks to a state dinner, spanning meetings across four American administrations.
SCMP Economy also highlights that Xi’s first US visit as president in June 2013 took place at the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage, California, rather than in Washington’s protocol-heavy setting, and that the 200-acre estate was originally built as a winter haven by Walter and Leonore Annenberg.
