Austin City Council approved zoning for 435-unit apartment complex
The school district plans to sell the former Rosedale Elementary site to OHT Partners for $26 million.
OHT Partners was greenlit by the Austin City Council for a zoning change to build a 435-unit apartment complex on the site of shuttered Rosedale Elementary, according to ConnectCRE.
The property currently is owned by the Austin school district, and the district plans to sell the site to OHT Partners for $26 million, the outlet said.
ConnectCRE added that some nearby residents opposed the project, but Austin city staff recommended approval, citing the potential to add more housing near the urban core, close to public transit corridors and planned Austin light rail stations.
