Bitget halts withdrawals after detecting $351.6M in hot wallet transfers
Bitget said its security systems detected unauthorized transfers at 18:31 UTC on September 24, 2026, and activated emergency response protocols immediately.
Crypto exchange Bitget said it detected unauthorized transfers from some of its hot wallets, estimating that $351.6 million in crypto was moved in a suspected hack.
In a statement shared on X, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said Bitget’s security systems flagged the activity at 18:31 UTC on September 24, 2026, and that its security team activated emergency response protocols right away.
The company added that it had temporarily halted withdrawals following the detection, while blockchain security firms flagged the issue earlier in the day.
Bitget said it would account for every dollar and decision transparently and in full as it responds to the incident.
