Bitget says breach impacts about $388M after updated asset tracing

The exchange also said it will keep withdrawals paused and launched a bounty program to help freeze or recover the assets.

Crypto exchange Bitget updated its incident report for the security breach announced on Thursday, saying about $388 million in assets were affected, compared with the previously reported $352 million.

In the update, Bitget said onchain tracing showed $387.5 million had been transferred to attacker-controlled addresses, about $35 million more than reported earlier.

Bitget said it would continue pausing withdrawals following the breach and described launching a bounty program to incentivize freezing or recovering the affected assets.
