IBM connects tokenized deposit transfers to SWIFT's shared ledger
The beta uses an ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter to map standard payment instructions to transactions on SWIFT's permissioned ledger.
IBM announced a beta connection between its Digital Asset Haven platform and SWIFT's shared ledger for tokenized deposits on Sept. 24, using an ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter. CryptoSlate reports the adapter lets participating institutions instruct ledger transactions through payment messages they already exchange, while keeping settlement within existing systems.
The connection is designed to bring IBM’s digital-asset platform into SWIFT’s existing program, allowing banks to use familiar formats and compliance processes. IBM also announced a separate on-premises beta for institutions that want to run Haven in their own data centers.
Digital Asset Haven combines wallets, key management, transaction signing, and policy controls for regulated organizations. According to CryptoSlate, IBM says the adapter maps ISO 20022 payment instructions to transactions on SWIFT’s permissioned ledger, and that institutions already in SWIFT's program have tested tokenized deposits on the shared ledger with Haven.
