MAXYZ seeks up to 6 million BAL to seed a successor protocol
The proposal would be paired with a planned Balancer wind-down where BAL holders can burn tokens for a pro rata share of remaining DAO assets.
MAXYZ, a group of former Balancer contributors, is asking for up to 6 million currently non-circulating BAL to seed a successor protocol, according to a proposal posted and expanded in a FAQ by Sept. 23.
The document frames a key risk for older holders: if any of the granted tokens become eligible before Balancer’s proposed wind-down redemption snapshot, the same treasury could be divided among more BAL.
MAXYZ also proposes a contingent allocation from a future fork to the Balancer treasury, which the proposal describes as having no realized value today.
Alongside this, the post says a separate wind-down plan would let BAL holders burn their tokens for a pro rata share of the DAO’s remaining assets, while noting that neither forum proposal alone would transfer tokens, change pool operations, or grant fork rights to code.
