Roblox warns of scams that steal Robux via login details
The company says players should use only official links and avoid downloads from unknown senders to prevent account and virtual-currency theft.
Roblox is warning users about scams that target players, including children, for their login details in order to steal Robux and access personal data, according to a report by The Guardian Business.
The scam described involves victims being promised extra Robux after following a link shared on YouTube, after which they are taken to the Roblox site but do not receive the additional currency.
Roblox says users should avoid clicking through links or downloading anything from unknown senders or websites, and instead go through the official Roblox app or website.
The company’s guidance is intended to reduce the risk of account compromise and subsequent theft of in-game currency and personal information.
