EUR/JPY holds near 179.7 as traders watch EMA resistance
Technical signals point to near-term topside pressure, with a move below the descending channel’s lower boundary seen as exposing the 177.0 area and an 11-month low at 175.7.
EUR/JPY was trading around 179.7 during Asian hours on Monday after modest losses the prior day, FXStreet reported.
The outlet’s technical view says the pair is still bearish in the near term, staying below the nine-day and 50-day EMAs, which it links to capped upside.
FXStreet added that the 14-day RSI at 41.4 remains below the midline, indicating weak but stabilizing momentum after a pullback.
On levels, the analysis highlighted the descending channel’s lower boundary near 177.0, then an 11-month low at 175.7 from November 2025, while nearby resistance was described around the nine-day EMA near 177.9 and the 50-day EMA at 182.2.
