Som Distilleries shares jump after Madhya Pradesh court orders excise licence renewal
The Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed a rejection of the company’s renewal and told the state to renew its manufacturing licences within 15 days of the order date.
Som Distilleries & Breweries shares rallied nearly 7% in early trade after the Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed the state government’s rejection of the company’s excise licence renewal application, according to a BSE filing summarized by LiveMint.
The report said the court directed renewal of all of the company’s manufacturing licences under the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act within 15 days from the order date, after the state previously rejected applications from Som Distilleries Group units seeking renewal for 2026 to 2027.
LiveMint also noted that the court’s judgment was dated September 24, 2026, following an earlier rejection order dated June 18, 2026.
