Dollar edges higher, DXY nears its June 24 high around 101.80
Brown Brothers Harriman notes the DXY index is approaching 101.80, while upcoming JOLTS and Consumer Confidence data could influence expectations for US growth and labor demand.
FXStreet reports that Brown Brothers Harriman’s Elias Haddad said the US dollar is edging higher against major currencies, with the DXY index approaching its June 24 high near 101.80.
Haddad argued that tightening by other central banks may reduce policy divergence versus the Federal Reserve, which could limit how far the dollar rises sustainably, even as US growth outperformance and strong foreign demand for US securities provide support into coming months.
FXStreet also highlighted that upcoming US data, including the August Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey and the September Conference Board Consumer Confidence index, are expected to be key market catalysts, with JOLTS seen as a check on labor demand and layoffs remaining low.
