Florida Realtors report buyers waiting for rates to fall
An Orlando Regional Realtor Association mid-year survey found 64% of local Realtors say buyers are waiting for rates to drop and 53% report buyers shifting to lower price points to afford monthly payments.
HousingWire reports that Florida’s housing market friction is being driven by rate-sensitive demand, builder incentives, and longer listing times, with sellers offering more concessions to close deals.
According to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association mid-year member survey, 64% of local Realtors say buyers are waiting for rates to drop, 53% say buyers are shopping at lower price points to make the payment work, and 68% are seeing more seller concessions than a year ago.
HousingWire says the pattern is statewide across markets including Tampa, Jacksonville, the Panhandle, and Southwest Florida, while new-construction share of sales ranges from single digits in Miami to more than half in Lakeland.
