Public PS5 jailbreak Relapse works on firmware 7.00 to 13.60

The jailbreak, released as free code on GitHub, targets PS5 firmware versions 7.00 through 13.60 using a DNS change and an exploit chain that can load homebrew apps.

A public PS5 jailbreak called Relapse has been released that works on PS5 firmware 7.00 through 13.60, requiring only a DNS change and a few seconds to run, according to Decrypt.

Decrypt reports the process involves setting the PS5 primary DNS to 45.56.67.85, opening the User Guide, entering an exploit page address into the URL box, and waiting.

The jailbreak code is posted on GitHub under an MIT license, meaning it is free to use, modify, and improve, Decrypt said.

Decrypt adds that Relapse chains two attacks, using an ELF loader to run payloads, which it says can include homebrew apps and game backups.
