US dollar rises to multi week highs after JOLTS data
Job openings fell to 7.079 million in August, below expectations of 7.23 million, helping the dollar regain upside momentum.
FXStreet reported that the US Dollar climbed to fresh multi week highs on Tuesday in the 101.40 to 101.50 region after the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, showed openings totaling 7.079 million at the end of August.
The data came in below analysts expectations of 7.23 million, following July openings of 7.335 million, which was revised from 7.271 million.
FXStreet also cited details from the release, including hires at 5.2 million and total separations at 5.1 million, with quits at 3.1 million and layoffs and discharges at 1.6 million.
According to FXStreet, persistent uncertainty surrounding the Middle East conflict and higher US Treasury yields supported demand for the dollar.
