ESMA proposes MiCA rules that would restrict DeFi services and staking
The proposal would also bar crypto firms from MiCA-licensable activities tied to stablecoins that do not meet requirements, covering custody and transfers.
ESMA has proposed MiCA rules aimed at DeFi gateways, as well as staking and lending activities.
The regulator also wants to bar crypto firms from any MiCA-licensable services that involve stablecoins that are not compliant with MiCA.
According to The Defiant, those restrictions would extend to custody and transfers involving noncompliant stablecoins.
